Being poor, usually refers to people not having enough money to make a living and cover their basic human needs. It therefore seems to be an obvious solution to provide people living in misery with a fixed amount of money, through direct cash transfers. In order to make it a feasible concept, an adequate financial framework needs to be established. We suggest to begin with four of the least developed countries from three distinctive world regions, namely Asia (Timor–Leste), North America (Haiti) and Africa (Burundi, Liberia). International Organizations such as the U.N. and World Bank, could be used in order to give a financial kick–start to the project in those selected countries. As they are already receiving aid from people living in developed countries who desire to help the poor, this would be the most practical way of funding. Organizations like the OECD or UN Watch could monitor and evaluate the developments in a time frame of two to three years.
